Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic detoxification practice that removes toxins, bacteria and other harmful organisms from your mouth that can cause disease or illness. Traditionally, sesame oil was used. I suggest using Coconut oil which has a much better flavor and additional benefits, such as anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory.
Oil pulling is a simple daily practice with big results.
Here are some of the numerous possible benefits:
Combats disease and illness.
Whiter teeth. Stronger gums, teeth and jaw. Remedy bleeding gums. Heal dry cracked lips.
Clearer skin, as a result of removing toxins before they enter the bloodstream.
Increased energy. Oil pulling can lessen the burden on our immune system, which, when overworked can drain our energy.
Balance hormones
Fight candida
Kills parasites in the mouth and gums
Oil pulling is easy, all you have to do is take a tablespoon of extra virgin, cold pressed coconut oil, swish in your mouth and pull through your teeth. If your coconut oil is solid simply let it melt in your mouth before you begin.
Try to make this a daily routine for 10 – 20 minutes. If at first this seems too long, do any length of time you are comfortable with, and next time try for a minute longer. Oil pulling is best done first thing in the morning, before you brush your teeth. Don’t watch the clock, instead take a shower or do some chores, and before you know it it’s time to spit it out. Be sure not to swallow any of the oil, you don’t want to re-ingest all the toxins you are getting rid of.
Thoroughly rinse your mouth with warm water, then brush your teeth with a natural, fluoride free toothpaste. My favorite is Thieves Dentarome Ultra Toothpaste which has added therapeutic essential oils and a natural whitening agent. Results may take a few days or a few weeks to notice.
There’s more! You can Supercharge your oil pulling by adding Clove or Thieves therapeutic grade essential oils.
Clove oil has been used in dental care for many years as an anti-septic and anti-inflammatory.
Thieves is a blend of oils that are anti-bacterial, anti-infectious, and anti-viral.
Both oils are powerful and known to relieve dental pain, fight cavities and tooth decay, freshen breath and keep your teeth and gums healthy where many diseases begin. One drop added to your coconut oil is all you need for these amazing results.
Now you have a truly clean mouth!
